How?Cardiff does not have a minimum threshold score for the UKCAT, however, the UKCAT score may be used as part of the assessment procedure or in borderline cases.Glasgow consider the UKCAT with all other aspects of your application. The range of scores they consider changes each year as the performance of each admissions cohort varies. The Situational Judgement section of the UKCAT test will not be taken into consideration for entry in 2017.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects Required5 Year Course and Foundation Course: B (grade 6) in Mathematics, B (grade 6) in English Language, AA (7,7) in Science and Additional Science, or AAB in three separate sciences. These are the minimum and not the standard requirements.Grade B (Grade 6) in English Language.
A-Level Subjects Required5 year course: Students must offer three A2 level subjects which should include Chemistry and Biology. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Further Mathematics are not acceptable at A2 Level. Foundation Course: If your qualifications do not include the correct subjects to be considered for the 5 year course, then you can apply for the foundation course (which goes on to the 5 year programme).Must include Chemistry and one of Maths, Physics or Biology. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not acceptable as third subjects. If Biology is not studied at A2 level, it must have been taken at AS level. Biology and Human Biology are NOT considered as separate subjects. Maths and Further Maths are NOT considered as separate subjects.
A-Level Grades RequiredAAA for 5 year programme and foundation programme (which leads on to five year programme).AAA (in three A2 examinations at one sitting). If Biology not taken at A Level, then must be an A grade at AS level.

Scottish Advanced Highers Subjects RequiredApplicants offering two subjects at Advanced Higher level with AA grades (including Chemistry); in addition to the Scottish Highers described above, can be considered for the five year scheme (A100). Applicants should normally achieve the qualifications (Highers or Advanced Highers) at the first attempt of the examinations. Mathematics and English Language must be passed to at least Standard Level with Grade 2 or Grade B.-
Scottish Advanced Highers Grades RequiredAAEither Grade A and B in two Advanced Highers and one additional Higher at B or above in S6. Or BBB in three Advanced Highers in S6. All to be taken at the first sitting.
IB Subjects RequiredTwo Higher Level from Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths/Statistics (not Mathematical Studies). One Higher Level must be Biology or Chemistry. The other subject (Biology/Chemistry) must be offered at Standard Level if not at Higher. Physics must be offered at GCSE level if not at Higher or Subsidiary Level.Higher Level Chemistry and Biology and either Higher Level Maths or Physics (if it is not possible to sit Maths or Physics at HL, then SL will be considered at 6 points).
IB Grades Required36. Minimum of 19 points at Higher Level. 7,6,6 must be offered at Higher Level; 7 points at Standard Level Chemistry/Biology if not at Higher Level.38. Chemistry 6 and Biology 6 at higher level. A minimum of 6 points in English at Standard Level is also required.
