BMAT

How?Invitations to an interview will be based on the content of your UCAS application and your performance in all three sections of BMAT. BMAT cut-off scores are calculated each year, as a result of ranked candidate BMAT scores versus number of expected interview sessions. As a result, the absolute BMAT cut-off changes each year. For 2018 entry, the minimum scores required were: - a score of 4.1 in section 1 - a score of 4.2 in section 2 - a score of 2.5 and grade C in section 3n/a

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredGrade B (Grade 6) in English Language. If candidates don't have this, GCSE English must be resat (and made clear on the application).Grade B (Grade 6) in English Language.
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry, Biology and any third subject (excluding vocational subjects, General Studies and Critical Thinking).Must include Chemistry and one of Maths, Physics or Biology. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not acceptable as third subjects. If Biology is not studied at A2 level, it must have been taken at AS level. Biology and Human Biology are NOT considered as separate subjects. Maths and Further Maths are NOT considered as separate subjects.
A-Level Grades RequiredAAA - please note that a standard offer is likely to be A*AA. A* in Chemistry or Biology; A in the remaining subject from Chemistry or Biology; A in a third subject.AAA (in three A2 examinations at one sitting). If Biology not taken at A Level, then must be an A grade at AS level.

Scottish Advanced Highers Subjects RequiredAAA in Scottish Advanced Highers, to be achieved in one sitting and without resits.-
Scottish Advanced Highers Grades Required-Either Grade A and B in two Advanced Highers and one additional Higher at B or above in S6. Or BBB in three Advanced Highers in S6. All to be taken at the first sitting.
IB Subjects RequiredHigher Level Biology and Chemistry. If either Biology or Chemistry is offered at Standard Level, one other science of maths subject must be offered at Higher Level. Also require English at Standard Level.Higher Level Chemistry and Biology and either Higher Level Maths or Physics (if it is not possible to sit Maths or Physics at HL, then SL will be considered at 6 points).
IB Grades Required38. Biology and Chemistry at Higher Level 6. English at Standard Level 5. As a guide, the typical offer made in 2017 to at least 85% of applicants studying IB was 39 points overall. Usually, offers included a 7 in Biology or Chemistry at higher level.38. Chemistry 6 and Biology 6 at higher level. A minimum of 6 points in English at Standard Level is also required.
