How?n/aApplicants are considered in 5 stages. 1: Academic Critera, 2: BMAT, 3: Non-academic Criteria, 4: Interview, 5: Fitness to Practice. They calculate the total BMAT score by combining the individual scores for Sections 1, 2 and 3. Section 1 is scored out of 9; Section 2 is scored out of 9; and Section 3 is scored out of 5 (for quality of content). They do not use the quality of English score (A-E).

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredIf Chemistry or Biology are not offered at AS/A-Level, they must be offered at GCSE with Grade A or 7.9 subjects: 15 points (A*/A = 2 points, B = 1 point), including at least Grade B in English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry (or Core and Additional Science). Grade C must be achieved in all other subjects. New grading system A*=Grade 8/9, A=7 and B=6)
A-Level Subjects RequiredCandidates must have Chemistry and/or Biology at A or AS level. General Studies/Critical Thinking are not considered. For Biology, Chemistry and Physics, a pass is required in the practical element. If only one of Biology/Chemistry is offered at A or AS level, the other should be offered at GCSE with an A grade or 7.A2 Biology and Chemistry are mandatory. General Studies accepted as 4th AS Level only. Only one of Maths/Further Maths will be considered. Three subjects taken at one sitting, after 2 years of study, plus a 4th subject at AS-level 5 or EPQ.
