How?At Plymouth, the UKCAT is used alongside academic ability. You are required to meet a minimum standard in each of the subtests plus an overall target score set and reviewed annually by the Admissions Advisory Panel. For example, in 2015 for 2016 entry: The minimum scores were: Verbal Reasoning - 530; Quantitative Reasoning - 650; Abstract Reasoning - 610; Decision Analysis - 600. An overall score of 2610n/a

BMAT

How?n/aThe BMAT is used to rank medical students for interview, but there is no cut off. The Essay (section III) is used as discussion in the interview.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredApplicants need to achieve 7 GCSE passes at grades A-C/9-4 which must include English language, mathematics and either GCSE double award science or two from single award chemistry, biology, or physicsGCSE (or IGCSE, O-level, IB or EB equivalent) at grade B or above in both English Language and Mathematics. For candidates taking the new style of GCSEs with numerical outcomes rather than letter grades, the requirement is for a score of 6 in both English Language and Mathematics. UCL expects all UK applicants to offer a Modern Foreign Language (not including Ancient Greek, Biblical Hebrew or Latin) at GCSE grade C or equivalent (the requirement for the new style of GCSEs with numerical outcomes will be score of 5). This requirement does not apply to international students. Candidates can be admitted if they do not offer a foreign language GCSE (and their application will not be disadvantaged), but they would be obliged to take a language course during their first year.
A-Level Subjects RequiredA*AA - AAB at A-Level which must include an A grade in biology and one further science from chemistry, physics, maths, and psychology. Your third GCE A level can be from any subject area including the humanities, languages, music, sport, science and the social sciencesChemistry and Biology must be studied at A-level.
