How?At Plymouth, the UKCAT is used alongside academic ability. You are required to meet a minimum standard in each of the subtests plus an overall target score set and reviewed annually by the Admissions Advisory Panel. For example, in 2015 for 2016 entry: The minimum scores were: Verbal Reasoning - 530; Quantitative Reasoning - 650; Abstract Reasoning - 610; Decision Analysis - 600. An overall score of 2610At Southampton, students are ranked by UKCAT score and from there invited to a Selection Day, provided they also meet the academic criteria. They do not currently use the Situational Judgement test.

GCSE Subjects RequiredApplicants need to achieve 7 GCSE passes at grades A-C/9-4 which must include English language, mathematics and either GCSE double award science or two from single award chemistry, biology, or physicsSix GCSEs at grade A (grade 7) or above, including either Maths, Biology and Chemistry, or Maths, Additional Science and Science. English Language is required at a minimum of grade B (level 6).
A-Level Subjects RequiredA*AA - AAB at A-Level which must include an A grade in biology and one further science from chemistry, physics, maths, and psychology. Your third GCE A level can be from any subject area including the humanities, languages, music, sport, science and the social sciencesChemistry and Biology. Not accepted at A2: General Studies, Critical Thinking, or subjects with material that overlaps (eg. human biology/sports studies/physical education). AS Levels are not required.
