How?At Plymouth, the UKCAT is used alongside academic ability. You are required to meet a minimum standard in each of the subtests plus an overall target score set and reviewed annually by the Admissions Advisory Panel. For example, in 2015 for 2016 entry: The minimum scores were: Verbal Reasoning - 530; Quantitative Reasoning - 650; Abstract Reasoning - 610; Decision Analysis - 600. An overall score of 2610New for 2019 entry - unspecified.

GCSE Subjects RequiredApplicants need to achieve 7 GCSE passes at grades A-C/9-4 which must include English language, mathematics and either GCSE double award science or two from single award chemistry, biology, or physics5 subjects at grade A (7) with a minimum of grade B (6) in Maths, English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Dual science accepted.
A-Level Subjects RequiredA*AA - AAB at A-Level which must include an A grade in biology and one further science from chemistry, physics, maths, and psychology. Your third GCE A level can be from any subject area including the humanities, languages, music, sport, science and the social sciencesBiology or Chemistry plus another designated science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths/Further Maths/Statistics) and a third academic subject. Any science A Level (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) completed in England from 2017 must include a pass in the practical endorsement.

Points awarded for the Extended Essay or Theory of Knowledge are not taken into account but these components must have been completed.
