How?Candidates' UKCAT scores are considered in selection for interview alongside actual and predicted academic achievement. A minimum UKCAT cut-off score is NOT used. A score (between 1200 - 3600) is allocated based on the applicant's overall performance compared with all other applicants. Interview: the lowest total score for an applicant invited to interview 1600 and the highest 2480 Offers made: the lowest total score for successful applicants who were made offers was 1660 and the highest 2480 Please Note: Scores for 2017 may seem lowere due to only 3 subtests being scored.n/a

BMAT

How?n/aApplicants are considered in 5 stages. 1: Academic Critera, 2: BMAT, 3: Non-academic Criteria, 4: Interview, 5: Fitness to Practice. They calculate the total BMAT score by combining the individual scores for Sections 1, 2 and 3. Section 1 is scored out of 9; Section 2 is scored out of 9; and Section 3 is scored out of 5 (for quality of content). They do not use the quality of English score (A-E).

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredEnglish Language and Maths Grade C (level 4); combination of A and B (level 6-9) passes at GCSE expected, especially in science subjects. Biology is recommended; Physics is recommended (or Dual Award Science).9 subjects: 15 points (A*/A = 2 points, B = 1 point), including at least Grade B in English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry (or Core and Additional Science). Grade C must be achieved in all other subjects. New grading system A*=Grade 8/9, A=7 and B=6)
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry, and one subject from Biology/Human Biology/Maths/Physics is required. One further A-Level in most other subjects (not General Studies). Check with Medical Admissions Office if in doubt about suitability of a subject.A2 Biology and Chemistry are mandatory. General Studies accepted as 4th AS Level only. Only one of Maths/Further Maths will be considered. Three subjects taken at one sitting, after 2 years of study, plus a 4th subject at AS-level 5 or EPQ.

If our S5 requirements are not met, a typical offer will be Conditional upon achieving a minimum of the grades below in three appropriate subjects in S6. National 5 qualifications; English and Maths are required (Grade B minimum); Biology and Physics are recommended but not compulsory (Grade B minimum). A combination of Grade A & B passes at Standard Grade / National 5 is expected, especially in science subjects.Highers: at least five subjects, taken at one sitting, after one year of study and including Biology (A), Chemistry (A) plus at least three other subjects.
