How?Candidates' UKCAT scores are considered in selection for interview alongside actual and predicted academic achievement. A minimum UKCAT cut-off score is NOT used. A score (between 1200 - 3600) is allocated based on the applicant's overall performance compared with all other applicants. Interview: the lowest total score for an applicant invited to interview 1600 and the highest 2480 Offers made: the lowest total score for successful applicants who were made offers was 1660 and the highest 2480 Please Note: Scores for 2017 may seem lowere due to only 3 subtests being scored.Glasgow consider the UKCAT with all other aspects of your application. The range of scores they consider changes each year as the performance of each admissions cohort varies. The Situational Judgement section of the UKCAT test will not be taken into consideration for entry in 2017.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredEnglish Language and Maths Grade C (level 4); combination of A and B (level 6-9) passes at GCSE expected, especially in science subjects. Biology is recommended; Physics is recommended (or Dual Award Science).Grade B (Grade 6) in English Language.
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry, and one subject from Biology/Human Biology/Maths/Physics is required. One further A-Level in most other subjects (not General Studies). Check with Medical Admissions Office if in doubt about suitability of a subject.Must include Chemistry and one of Maths, Physics or Biology. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not acceptable as third subjects. If Biology is not studied at A2 level, it must have been taken at AS level. Biology and Human Biology are NOT considered as separate subjects. Maths and Further Maths are NOT considered as separate subjects.
A-Level Grades RequiredAAAAAA (in three A2 examinations at one sitting). If Biology not taken at A Level, then must be an A grade at AS level.
Scottish Highers Subjects RequiredShould our S5 minimum requirements of AAAAB in appropriate subjects be achieved then a typical offer would be Conditional with achievable S6 conditions being set. If our S5 requirements are not met, a typical offer will be Conditional upon achieving a minimum of the grades below in three appropriate subjects in S6. National 5 qualifications; English and Maths are required (Grade B minimum); Biology and Physics are recommended but not compulsory (Grade B minimum). A combination of Grade A & B passes at Standard Grade / National 5 is expected, especially in science subjects.-

Scottish Advanced Highers Subjects RequiredHigher qualifications: Chemistry (Grade B minimum); Two subjects are required from Biology/Human Biology, Maths, Physics. Two further Highers in most other subjects – applicants should check with the Medical Admissions office if clarification required. These may be taken across the Senior Phase – S4 to S6. There is no requirement, and therefore no advantage given, to obtaining the three sciences required in one sitting. Maths is regarded as a science.-
Scottish Advanced Highers Grades RequiredGrade B minimum.Either Grade A and B in two Advanced Highers and one additional Higher at B or above in S6. Or BBB in three Advanced Highers in S6. All to be taken at the first sitting.
IB Subjects RequiredChemistry, and one subject from Biology/Human Biology/Maths/Physics is required. Maths studies cannot be considered as one of the two sciences. One other subject.Higher Level Chemistry and Biology and either Higher Level Maths or Physics (if it is not possible to sit Maths or Physics at HL, then SL will be considered at 6 points).
IB Grades Required36 points overall (including core), with 3 appropriate subjects at HL each to achieve grade 6 and 3 appropriate subjects at SL (see below) with an average of 6.38. Chemistry 6 and Biology 6 at higher level. A minimum of 6 points in English at Standard Level is also required.
