UKCAT (UCAT)

Used
How?n/aAt Hull York, applicants with a Situational Judgement Test Band of 4 (the lowest band) will not be considered. Prior to interview, they use your total UKCAT score (allocated points out of 50) alongside your GCSE results (allocated points out of 40) in order to decide who to invite to interview. Following interview, they make offers based primarily on interview performance, and they use the UKCAT Situational Judgement Test as an extra interview station.

BMAT

Used
How?Used alongside Personal Statement and grades. Admissions Tutors use the BMAT results in conjunction with the other elements of students' applications to decide which candidates will be invited to interview and to help with deciding who should be offered places on the course. Students who achieve higher BMAT results are more likely to be invited to interview but there isn't a 'pass' mark for the BMAT at Cambridge. As an indication, last year around 79% of candidates who scored an average of 5.0 or above in Sections 1 and 2 were interviews, and around 33% of those scoring below 5.0 were interviewed.n/a
