How?At Dundee, there is no minimum cut-off score. Your UKCAT score will be factored into the pre-interview rank alongside academic ability. There is no specific cut off applied but obviously a high score is advantageous. Weighting is dependent on applicant type: school leavers - 40% UKCAT, 60% academic; graduates: 60% UKCAT, 40% academic.n/a

How?n/aApplicants are considered in 5 stages. 1: Academic Critera, 2: BMAT, 3: Non-academic Criteria, 4: Interview, 5: Fitness to Practice. They calculate the total BMAT score by combining the individual scores for Sections 1, 2 and 3. Section 1 is scored out of 9; Section 2 is scored out of 9; and Section 3 is scored out of 5 (for quality of content). They do not use the quality of English score (A-E).

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredThey require biology, at least to GCSE grade A. Chemistry, Mathematics and English at least to GCSE grade B.9 subjects: 15 points (A*/A = 2 points, B = 1 point), including at least Grade B in English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry (or Core and Additional Science). Grade C must be achieved in all other subjects. New grading system A*=Grade 8/9, A=7 and B=6)
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry and another science subject (Biology, Physics or Maths). Third subject can be anything apart from General Studies A-Level.A2 Biology and Chemistry are mandatory. General Studies accepted as 4th AS Level only. Only one of Maths/Further Maths will be considered. Three subjects taken at one sitting, after 2 years of study, plus a 4th subject at AS-level 5 or EPQ.

Scottish Highers Subjects RequiredAAAAB (minimum) at the same sitting of Highers, to include chemistry and another science subject (from biology, physics or mathematics). The other three Highers can be your own choice and this choice of subjects will not influence the assessment. We also require biology at least to grade A at National 5 and mathematics and English at least to grade B at National 5, if not studied at Higher. Achievement at Standard Grade/National 5 will also be taken into account.Highers: at least five subjects, taken at one sitting, after one year of study and including Biology (A), Chemistry (A) plus at least three other subjects.
