How?Glasgow consider the UKCAT with all other aspects of your application. The range of scores they consider changes each year as the performance of each admissions cohort varies. The Situational Judgement section of the UKCAT test will not be taken into consideration for entry in 2017.Cardiff does not have a minimum threshold score for the UKCAT, however, the UKCAT score may be used as part of the assessment procedure or in borderline cases.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredGrade B (Grade 6) in English Language.5 Year Course and Foundation Course: B (grade 6) in Mathematics, B (grade 6) in English Language, AA (7,7) in Science and Additional Science, or AAB in three separate sciences. These are the minimum and not the standard requirements.
A-Level Subjects RequiredMust include Chemistry and one of Maths, Physics or Biology. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not acceptable as third subjects. If Biology is not studied at A2 level, it must have been taken at AS level. Biology and Human Biology are NOT considered as separate subjects. Maths and Further Maths are NOT considered as separate subjects.5 year course: Students must offer three A2 level subjects which should include Chemistry and Biology. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Further Mathematics are not acceptable at A2 Level. Foundation Course: If your qualifications do not include the correct subjects to be considered for the 5 year course, then you can apply for the foundation course (which goes on to the 5 year programme).
A-Level Grades RequiredAAA (in three A2 examinations at one sitting). If Biology not taken at A Level, then must be an A grade at AS level.AAA for 5 year programme and foundation programme (which leads on to five year programme).

Scottish Advanced Highers Subjects Required-Applicants offering two subjects at Advanced Higher level with AA grades (including Chemistry); in addition to the Scottish Highers described above, can be considered for the five year scheme (A100). Applicants should normally achieve the qualifications (Highers or Advanced Highers) at the first attempt of the examinations. Mathematics and English Language must be passed to at least Standard Level with Grade 2 or Grade B.
