GCSE Subjects RequiredWe expect applicants to have obtained a substantial number of GCSE passes, at a high standard. At least 6 grade B’s (or a mark of 6 if applicants have taken the new GCSEs) must be offered including the following: • English • Mathematics • Dual/Double Science, or Science and Additional Science, or Chemistry and Biology These are the minimum entry requirements for Leeds; applicants should be aware that admission is highly competitive and the majority of applicants will have qualifications well above this standard.5 Year Course and Foundation Course: B (grade 6) in Mathematics, B (grade 6) in English Language, AA (7,7) in Science and Additional Science, or AAB in three separate sciences. These are the minimum and not the standard requirements.
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry required. General Studies & Critical Thinking are not considered. Certain combinations are not acceptable - for example, Chemistry with Biology and Human Biology or Chemistry with Maths and Further Maths.5 year course: Students must offer three A2 level subjects which should include Chemistry and Biology. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Further Mathematics are not acceptable at A2 Level. Foundation Course: If your qualifications do not include the correct subjects to be considered for the 5 year course, then you can apply for the foundation course (which goes on to the 5 year programme).
