How?Those in the top 20% will receive the full mark available for this part of their application and those in the bottom 20% will receive the lowest mark available for this part of their application. They do not use a pre-determined cut-off threshold. The BMAT total score will be calculated from a sum of the scores achieved in Section 1, 2 and 3 although Section 3 will have half the weighting of the other sections as it will be revisited during the interview stage of the selection process.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredWe expect applicants to have obtained a substantial number of GCSE passes, at a high standard. At least 6 grade B’s (or a mark of 6 if applicants have taken the new GCSEs) must be offered including the following: • English • Mathematics • Dual/Double Science, or Science and Additional Science, or Chemistry and Biology These are the minimum entry requirements for Leeds; applicants should be aware that admission is highly competitive and the majority of applicants will have qualifications well above this standard.At least six GCSEs at grade 7 (A) including biology and chemistry, one of either physics or maths must also be passed to grade 7 (A) with the other being grade 6 (B) and a minimum of grade 6 (B) in English language. (Double science requirement is 7,7 and triple science is 7,7,7).
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry required. General Studies & Critical Thinking are not considered. Certain combinations are not acceptable - for example, Chemistry with Biology and Human Biology or Chemistry with Maths and Further Maths.Biology (or human biology) and chemistry at grade A (a pass is required in science practical tests, where assessed separately). The third A can be in any subject except citizenship studies, critical thinking, general studies and global perspectives. A levels must be taken within a two-year period.
