How?The BMAT score is used to rank candidates for interview. BSMS scores the BMAT out of 28 (9 marks for Section 1, 9 for Section 2 and 5 marks for each element of Section 3) we then rank all applicants according to their total score out of 28 and work down the rankings to fill our interview places. For 2016 entry, applicants without contextual data who scored 16 or above were invited for interview (the cut off score will vary each year).

GCSE Subjects RequiredAt least six GCSEs at grade 7 (A) including biology and chemistry, one of either physics or maths must also be passed to grade 7 (A) with the other being grade 6 (B) and a minimum of grade 6 (B) in English language. (Double science requirement is 7,7 and triple science is 7,7,7).English Language/Literature and Maths, Grade B (Grade 6) or above.
A-Level Subjects RequiredBiology (or human biology) and chemistry at grade A (a pass is required in science practical tests, where assessed separately). The third A can be in any subject except citizenship studies, critical thinking, general studies and global perspectives. A levels must be taken within a two-year period.Biology and Chemistry mandatory. No specified third subject (they encourage humanities/arts for broadening academic horizons) - vast majority of applicants choose to study Maths or Physics. General studies not accepted.
