BMAT

How?n/aThe BMAT score is used to rank candidates for interview. BSMS scores the BMAT out of 28 (9 marks for Section 1, 9 for Section 2 and 5 marks for each element of Section 3) we then rank all applicants according to their total score out of 28 and work down the rankings to fill our interview places. For 2016 entry, applicants without contextual data who scored 16 or above were invited for interview (the cut off score will vary each year).

Entry Requirements

GCSE Subjects RequiredSix GCSEs at grade A (grade 7) or above, including either Maths, Biology and Chemistry, or Maths, Additional Science and Science. English Language is required at a minimum of grade B (level 6).English Language/Literature and Maths, Grade B (Grade 6) or above.
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry and Biology. Not accepted at A2: General Studies, Critical Thinking, or subjects with material that overlaps (eg. human biology/sports studies/physical education). AS Levels are not required.Biology and Chemistry mandatory. No specified third subject (they encourage humanities/arts for broadening academic horizons) - vast majority of applicants choose to study Maths or Physics. General studies not accepted.
