How?At St Andrews, the UKCAT is used to rank for interview (top 400). The Situational Judgement score contributes to the overall interview score.The test must be taken prior to your application in the year of application. At Sheffield, in addition to academic entry requirements, candidates must have achieved a score of 2470/3600 or above in their UCAT to be given further consideration. The Situational Judgement component is considered for those invited to attend a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI).

GCSE Subjects RequiredMinimum of 5 A (grade 7) GCSEsYou should have at least five grade A (grade 7) GCSE subjects; GCSE passes at grade B (grade 6) or above in Mathematics, English and at least one science subject (which may be dual awards); The five A grades may include Mathematics, English or a science subject; Acceptable science GCSEs include: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Psychology, Sciences (dual awards).
A-Level Subjects RequiredChemistry and one other from Biology, Mathematics or Physics. Does not have a preference for the third Advanced Level subject. Human Biology may replace Biology. General Studies, Critical Thinking and Global Perspectives & Research are not accepted. Only one of Mathematics or Further Mathematics will be considered for the 3 subjects required at Advanced Level.Chemistry or Biology and one other science (Maths, Physics, Biology/Human Biology or Psychology). The combination of Chemistry and Biology is acceptable. Critical Thinking and General Studies are not accepted. Further Mathematics for candidates who hold Mathematics A Level are not considered.
