UKCAT (UCAT)

Used
How?1. Verbal reasoning is used to select (the cut-off is the mean, which was 577 in 2015). Those scoring below the cut-off for VR will be rejected. 2. UKCAT total scores helps assign applicants into centiles. The lowest UKCAT score for an applicant with an undergraduate degree who was invited to selection centre was 2,800 for 2015 entry. 3. Academic achievements are also considered and scored (a PhD scores the most). Then, the total score dervied from points 1,2,3 is used to rank for interview. At Newcastle, applications fulfilling the academic thresholds will then be assessed on their UKCAT scores. The UKCAT threshold may vary depending upon the competition to each programme. The threshold is based on the total UKCAT score. This threshold may differ in each admission cycle, as it is dependent on the scores achieved by applicants in the current cycle.
